Each of my big toes has a stripe of fungus under the nail at the edge. I have been trying fungus sprays with no effect. I have good hygene and don’t understand how this happened. I have no insurance and the prescription for this is 174. 00. Let me know if you have any ideas.

Standard oral medication is not available to me because of the potential interaction with medications for diabetes, topical treatments have not worked, however, nail fungus can cause severe a diabetic to lose fingers and toes.

I have attempted to get rid of toenail fungus using various remedies: Penlac, TeaTree Oil, other nail fungal topical treatmnts. I have not tried the oral pills due to the doctor’s advice that they can damage liver, they are expensive and not 100% effective. The best remedy I have found is soaking my feet in vinegar daily, which works very well. Can anyone tell me what they have used and has worked? Thanks.

My two big toenails are both infected with a fungus. One nail had to come off and a new nail is only half grown underneath. The other one is now yellow-ish and I have to go back next week to see whether that one also has a fungus. The doctor has told me not to wear nail polish on my toenails anymore because he thinks that’s what ruined my toenails in the first place- the moisture being trapped underneath the nail. Are there any ways to make it look less noticeable besides band-aids? Because it hurts when I wear closed-toe shoes, so I want to wear flip flops but the band-aids always end up coming off! And also, what could I use as an anti-fungal treatment for the rest of my nails so that it doesn’t spread to them?

I have been treating it but before I treated it the nail was all curled up. My question is will that go away? How long will it take to get rid of?
